Ashley Lamothe: Operator ”Deep Dive” Story
Chick-fil-A AAON Women’s Forum Chair
Ashley’s Chik-fil-A career began when she was 15. In college, she originally pursued a career in theatre, but a restaurant operator encouraged her to pursue a career in leadership – and she did. At 26, she became one of the youngest franchise owners in Chik-fil-A history. She currently is an owner-operator of two Chik-fil-A restaurants.
Trudy Cathy White
Chick-fil-A Ambassador
Trudy is the only daughter of Jeannette and S. Truett Cathy, the founder of Chick-fil-A, Inc. An ambassador for the family business, Trudy has held various roles within Chick-fil-A. She was a restaurant operator at just 19-years-old. Since then, she has co-founded Lifeshape and Impact 260 Institute with her husband, John. She is also a speaker and an author.
Tom Bené
National Restaurant Association, CEO
Tom has spent the past 30 years in leadership roles within the foodservice and restaurant industry. Before joining the National Restaurant Association, he served as the chairman, president, and CEO of Sysco Corporation, the global leader in foodservice distribution, and president of PepsiCo Foodservice. His focus as a leader is on building the next generation of foodservice leaders and employees.

Tanya Hill-Holliday
McDonald’s Multi-Unit Operator
Tanya started out as a part-time crew member at McDonald’s while working her way through college. She worked her way up through the company, holding 13 different positions over two decades. In 2005, she purchased her first restaurant. Now she owns 10 restaurants and is recognized as the largest Black-owned McDonald’s franchise owner in the Philadelphia region.

Chick-fil-A & Starbucks Licensee
Following in her father’s business-savvy footsteps, Donata has been a member of Concessions International’s leadership team since 1985. As CEO of one of the country’s leading operators of food and beverage concessions throughout major airports in the United States and the Virgin Islands, she ensures that her family-oriented work environment encourages and builds character in addition to unparalleled excellence in performance.
Becky Pickle
Chick-fil-A Multi-Unit Operator
Becky started working at Chick-fil-A at age 15. Encouraged as a teenager to pursue leadership, she chose to plant the company’s ideals throughout her life. She owns two restaurants and feels compelled to make a difference in people’s lives outside of work, too, advocating for the homeless through the Road Home, as well as for the LGBTQ+ community through Encircle.
Valerie Artis
Chick-fil-A Operator: First to Open in the Seattle Market
Valerie fell in love with the Chik-fil-A brand in 2003. She spent 20 years as a marketing professional in the restaurant industry before moving to Pacific Northwest and opening up a new Chik-fil-A franchise in 2013. She focuses on building the community and providing opportunities for people to come together and connect.
Emily Elwell
Dominos Multi-Unit Operator
Emily joined Domino’s in college. She ended up loving the people she worked with and the challenging atmosphere the job offered. She worked her way up from a customer service representative to a franchisee. She enjoys helping her team grow and views them as an extended family. She prides herself on offering a kid-friendly environment in her franchises.
Jennifer English
Subway Multi-Unit Operator & DBO
Jennifer oversees 116 Subways in Western Texas and Southern New Mexico and owns 12 restaurants of her own. She prioritizes community engagement and her leadership helps feed people caught at the border. She encourages women to believe in themselves and aims to empower other women to feel confident.

Helen An
Top Restaurateur
After fleeing Vietnam during the Vietnam War, matriarch Helene An brought Vietnamese food to America, first at Thanh Long in San Francisco in the 1980s, then Crustacean in both San Francisco and Beverly Hills.
Mashama Bailey
Top Restaurateur
Mashama learned to cook at the hands of the women in her family. After her culinary education and traveling far for food, she spent a dozen years cooking throughout New York City. Now, she is the executive chef of The Grey and serves as vice chairman on the board of the Edna Lewis Foundation, working to preserve and celebrate the legacy that heavily influenced her menu at The Grey.

Dominique Crenn
Top Restaurateur
Driven by her passion to create a deeply personal project, Dominique opened Atelier Crenn, a place to express her heritage, as well as an ode to “poetic culinaria,” in January 2011. She is currently the co-owner and chef of the restaurant, where artistry is at the forefront, cuisine is a craft, and the community is an inspiration. In November 2018, she became the first female chef in the U.S. to receive three Michelin Stars.
Daniela Soto-Innes
Top Restaurateur
At age 23, Daniela left Mexico City for New York City to launch the restaurant Cosme with famed Mexican chef and restaurateur Enrique Olvera. Soon after, she became a chef and partner at Atla. She is currently a partner at Elio, a restaurant in Las Vegas, and Casamata, a hospitality company. In 2016, she was honored as the Rising Star Chef of the Year by James Beard and in 2019 she was honored as the World’s Best Female Chef.
Maneet Chauhan
Top Restaurateur
Maneet’s culinary journey started in India. After interning at India’s finest hotels and kitchens, moving to the U.S., continuing her culinary education, and leading multiple kitchens in New York City and Chicago, she founded Indie Culinaire, an avant-garde culinary and hospitality company. In 2014, she opened Chauhan Ale & Masala House in Nashville. She is a Chopped judge on Food Network and a cookbook author.
Krystle Mobayeni

Restaurant Technology Innovator
Krystle started out as a web designer and consultant. As she worked with restaurant clients to improve their websites, she realized that a specific tool to integrate everything a restaurant needs to drive revenue wasn’t available. So, in 2013, she co-founded BentoBox to create the technology solutions restaurants need while owning every aspect of their relationships with their customers.
